WFLO has proven experience advising development and private sector clients on energy efficiency investments and refrigeration systems decisions that can affect the company’s environmental footprint. These can be broad assessments of cold chain energy costs and alternatives within a country or specific company consultations. GCCA members can facilitate a better understanding of the ROI for investments, where operational best practices can reduce energy costs, and the installation, operating costs, and emissions for different refrigeration systems.

Beyond WFLO projects, GCCA has developed the Energy Excellence Recognition Program, which was rolled out to GCCA membership in 2018. The GCCA Energy Excellence Recognition Program helps temperature-controlled warehouse operators measure and improve energy efficiency at each of their facilities. Using qualitative and quantitative assessment tools, operators can track facility performance over time, enabling them to monitor for opportunities to improve efficiency.
