At the Global Cold Chain Alliance, we view talented professionals as a cornerstone of the industry's success. The following is a list of cold chain industry award programs that are geared towards young and up-and-coming professionals in the temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics industry. Anthony M. Leo WFLO Scholarship

This year, the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) and RLS Logistics are honored to announce the creation of the Anthony M. Leo WFLO Scholarship, designed to support a third-party cold chain logistics industry employee to attend the WFLO Institute for the three year duration of the program. One individual will be selected each year to start the program. Before his passing in March 2021, Tony was a highly engaged member of the association serving as Treasurer of the IARW Board of Directors, participating on numerous committees, and presenting at events. He was also a passionate advocate for training and educating the next generation of future cold chain leaders. In honor of all he did for the association and the industry, the Tony Leo Scholarship was created in June 2021. The scholarship will cover an individual’s registration, airfare, hotel, meals and other honors over 3 years. More .

GCCA NextGen Award

Organized by the Global Cold Chain Alliance, the GCCA NextGen Award recognizes outstanding future leaders in the cold storage industry around the world. Candidates for the GCCA NextGen Award are the winners of several regional and country awards.  More

Don Schlimme Future Leader Award 

Organized by the Global Cold Chain Alliance and its Core Partner the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses, the Don Schlimme Future Leader Award recognizes outstanding young professionals in the North American cold storage industry and country awards.  More

Brasil Future Leader Award

Latin American Future Leader Award

Launched in 2017, this award is organized by the Global Cold Chain Alliance and its Core Partner the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses. The Latin America Future Leader Award recognizes outstanding young professionals in the Latin American cold storage industry.  More

Europe Future Leader Award

Launched in 2018, this award is organized by the Global Cold Chain Alliance and its Core Partner the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses. The Europe Future Leader Award recognizes outstanding young professionals in the European cold storage industry.  More

WFLO Institute Scholarship 

Each year, the WFLO awards one student a full scholarship for the tuition and related expenses to attend the North American  WFLO Institute  (East or West), the cold storage industry’s premier training event. Recipients are selected based on their performance, leadership skills, and dedication to the industry. More

Don Schlimme Scholarship Fund

On July 24, 2012, the cold chain industry lost Donald V. Schlimme, Ph.D. A member of the WFLO Scientific Advisory Committee since 1983 and a WFLO Staff Advisor for many of those years, Schlimme was an expert in the science of cold storage and was committed to sharing his extensive knowledge. The WFLO Don Schlimme Scholarship Fund honors Schlimme’s memory and develops young professionals in the cold chain industry. Donations to this fund are tax deductible since WFLO is a 501 (c)(3) organization under IRS tax law.  Donate now  or call WFLO at +2022lpl .
