On November 19, 2020, GCCA joined a coalition of associations in signing a letter to Congressional leadership. The letter urges Congress to address the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) forgiveness process before the end of the year. Relevant legislation regarding PPP forgiveness includes  S.4117 , The Paycheck Protection Program Small Business Forgiveness Act, sponsored by Senators Cramer, Menendez, Tillis, and Sinema, and H.R.7777 , The Paycheck Protection Small Business Forgiveness Act, sponsored by Reps. Houlahan and Upton. Both pieces of legislation would streamline loan forgiveness and expand the hold harmless protections for lenders.
