Last week, the International Association for Cold Storage Construction (IACSC), a Core Partner of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), held the largest Conference & Expo in its 33 year history. Over 225 cold storage construction professionals from 6 countries came together at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas to participate in unparalleled educational programming, valuable networking opportunities, and a cold storage construction tradeshow. The record attendance figure represents a 10% increase from 2012.

“The IACSC Conference & Expo was a huge success,” said Janet Madden Charles, President/CEO, Envirotech Construction, Corp and the IACSC Chairman residing over the conference. “This event continues to attract new attendees each year, including more individuals from the end-user community with construction responsibilities.”

Educational programming, centered around the theme Building a Strong Foundation , covered topics such as employment law, facility design, maintenance and modernization (walls/lighting), solar installation best practices, LEED and next-generation refrigeration, plus two keynote presentations. The first keynote, Bob Ulliman, Director of Construction, Ben E. Keith, provided attendees with a customer’s perspective on innovations in cold storage construction. The second, Mike Thompson, CEO, SVI Inc. engaged the audience in a discussion regarding advanced approaches to leadership.

“Not only were attendees able to reconnect with their colleagues and build new relationships, but they also had the opportunity to discuss solutions to their most pressing challenges,” said IACSC President and COO Corey Rosenbusch. “There is no other industry conference that provides such high caliber education and participants.”

Over 25 companies participated in the sold-out expo, where attendees were able to explore the latest products in cold storage construction to improve current operations and find unique solutions to their most pressing challenges.

It was announced at the close of the event that the 34 ^th IACSC Conference & Expo will be held in Boca Raton, FL, November 6-9, 2014.
