Transportation Track

In 2022, the WFLO Institute West will host a special Transportation Track along side the other Institute classes. With dynamic curriculum taught by some of the best in the business, the Transportation Track can expose you to all aspects of leading the transportation function of your business and help you build your professional network.

The Transportation Track specializes in learning opportunities for transportation managers and leaders with in temperature controlled warehouse facilities. Here’s what a few of our top instructors have to say about it:

Keith Mowery , Senior Vice President of Logistics, US Cold: “The Transportation Track provides an opportunity for those in our industry who focus on transportation operations to receive specialized education focused on all facets of transportation ranging from carrier relations to private fleet and liability specific to transportation.  This provides a great foundation for each person to take back to their respective companies and implement specific processes and controls that are valuable not only to the company but also to the individual’s career development.  I would strongly encourage any transportation professional in the cold chain to take advantage of this unique opportunity.”

Todd Lanter , Director of Transportation Network Integration, Lineage: “ The Transportation Track allows students to dive deeper into logistics aspects beyond the warehouse and broaden their supply chain industry understanding of differing freight modes and the markets that drive them. By expanding their knowledge, networking with their peers, and learning from leaders in the industry, the Transportation Track students will be informed on nationwide freight capacity factors that affect warehouse efficiencies daily.”

Rob Fay , President, Florida Freezer / FLGO Freight / Seminole Gulf Railway / Bay Colony Railroad: “ Participation in the Transportation Track has enabled our company attendees to not only gain powerful knowledge on operating a transportation company (particularly in the refrigerated realm of the Cold Supply Chain), but also enables them with tools to share that knowledge with others back at work. I have had the fortune to participate as an attendee and an instructor in the Transportation Track at Institute. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of report between the class instructors and the students allowing for back and forth discussion and REAL WORLD application of what is learned in each class.”

Just a few examples of our Transportation Track courses are:

  • Carrier Relationships
  • Risk Management: Transportation Exposures
  • Transportation Basics
  • Transportation Safety

In addition to these courses, Transportation Track Students attend courses in the warehouse track as well, lending to the well-rounded learning experience they will have at Institute.
